Was shot and injured by members of an ANC self-defence unit (SDU), in Ethandakukhanya, Piet Retief, Tvl, in 1992, during a period of conflict between the Black Cats and the ANC. Mr Msibi, the mayor of Ethandakukhanya, was suspected of being an IFP member. One SDU member was granted amnesty (AC/98/0121).
