A councillor to a local chief who was shot dead on 4 April 1990 when a named perpetratrator attacked his home at Obanjeni, KwaZulu, near Empangeni, Natal, allegedly because he was suspected of joining the ANC and planning to overthrow the chief. Mr Mthetwa`s two grandsons, aged eight and seven, were also shot dead in the attack.
