Was shot and injured by members of the KwaNdebele Police on 31 May 1987 in Weltevrede, KwaNdebele, during conflict over independence. The police attacked a group of young men at a tavern. When they retaliated, police allegedly fired into the tavern, killing three people and injuring two.
