Thirty people were killed and 200 people injured in the event which became known as the Bisho massacre. Seven TDF soldiers were killed and some 33 wounded. Four of the coup conspirators were granted amnesty. Six Vlakplaas operatives were granted amnesty for providing arms for the attempted coup.
