Was seriously injured when a hand grenade exploded in a bus transporting workers in Heidelberg, Tvl, on 28 September 1992. One person was killed and 13 others were injured in the attack. A labour dispute between striking COSATU-aligne FAWU workers and non-striking IFP-aligned UWUSA workers caused violent conflict from July to December 1992.
