Was stoned and shot to death opposite Dube men’s hostel, Soweto, Johannesburg, on 2 May 1991 by a named IFP supporter during conflict between mainly ANC-supporting residents and IFP-supporting hostel-dwellers. The perpetrator was acquitted because he only admitted to the shooting and not to the stoning of Mr Nkosi. The magistrate ruled that stoning was the cause of death.
