Was killed when the car in which she and her family were travelling detonated a landmine planted by MK operatives on a road in Karino, Nelspruit, Transvaal , on 17 August 1986. One of her sons was also killed and two others were seriously injured. The attack formed part of ‘Operation Cetshwayo’, an MK landmine campaign in the Eastern Transvaal.
