Was killed when the car in which she and her family were travelling detonated a landmine planted by MK operatives on a road in Karino, Nelspruit, Transvaal , on 17 August 1986. One of her sons was also killed and two others were seriously injured. The attack formed part of ‘Operation Cetshwayo’, an MK landmine campaign in the Eastern Transvaal. Three MK operatives were granted amnesty (AC/2000/111). See ANC land mine campaign.
