Was detained at Komatipoort Police station, Tvl, on 28 April 1980 and tortured by members of the SAP because her cousins were MK operatives. Her father, brother and cousins were detained at the same time. Ms Sambo was then detained at the Barberton prison for several months, during which time she had to undergo surgery as a result of her injuries.
