A UDF supporter who was arrested and severely injured when beaten with batons in May 1986 at the Namakgale Police station, Lebowa. Segobela and others were involved in campaigns demanding the unbanning of all political organisations opposed to apartheid, and the release of Nelson Mandela and other political prisoners.
