Was stabbed and shot to death on 25 April 1992 when his home in Orlando West, Soweto, was attacked by IFP-supporters during conflict between mainly ANC-supporting residents and IFP-supporting hostel-dwellers. His wife was also killed in the attack and his sister-in-law was seriously injured. od. He was released after being held for a year and acquitted of all charges.
