Was shot and injured by a named member of the Municipal Police in Tembisa, Tvl, on 15 March 1986. Youths had targeted a nightclub owned by a local councillor when the policemen guarding the club gave chase, injuring Mr Tholo. At the time, local councillors and their property were often seen as legitimate targets in the struggle against apartheid.
