A member of the Sibongile Civic Association who was detained under emergency regulations in Newcastle, Natal, on 16 June 1986. In detention, he was severely beaten and tortured by members of the Security Branch, allegedly because he was thought to be involved in organising a rates boycott in Sibongile township.
