An ANC supporter who was detained and severely beaten by members of the Lebowa Police and SAP at Tafelkop, Transvaal, during the 1986 state of emergency. Mr Williamse was arrested at a mass meeting so that police could determine if he was on a ‘wanted’ list of political activists.
