From Inkatha’s point of view no rewriting of history should ever be allowed to hide the fact that the ANC spent many years far more involved in fighting and killing their fellow black South Africans than they spent involved in fighting the crime at the time in fighting the regime of the time. In addition to this campaign tens of thousands of IFP supporters have suffered intimidation and harassment. Thousands more were driven from their homes. The Inkatha Freedom Party is repeatedly sought to place this unprecedented programme of serial killing and maiming on the political agenda for discussion. The three main elements of the IFP charge against the apartheid government and the ANC outlined in the documents were as follows: that MK was responsible for much of the killing, that much of this emanated from Transkei, that the apartheid government was party to an agreement allowing the ANC to continue to recruit for Umkhonto we Sizwe for training outside South Africa.
