Special Report Transcripts for Section 1 of Episode 41
Time | Summary | | 00:00 | | Full Transcript | 00:10 | Between 1991 and 1994 a number of white farmers on farms neighbouring on Lesotho were murdered brutally. In tonight’s programme we’ll tell you about one of these murders and let the killers explain. We also bring you a special report on the Pondoland uprising of 1960 and give you the substance of former state president FW de Klerk’s new submission to the Truth Commission. Let’s start with the murders of white farmers. At the time, some said it was crime, some said it was revenge against racist farmers, some said the attacks had a political motive. This week, for the first time, four of these murderers applied for amnesty from the Truth Commission. They were all members of the PAC’s military wing, the Azanian People’s Liberation Army. | Full Transcript |
