Was stoned to death by ANC supporters and residents of Gandlanani village, Giyani, Gazankulu, on 24 February 1990. His brother was injured in the attack. The applicants testified that they believed that Mr Baloyi’s brother was an inyanga, a sorcerer, and that witchcraft was used to impede the struggle for liberation. Two ANC supporters were granted amnesty for the attack (AC/2001/073).
