Was framed for the murder of three members of an ANC-supporting family in Benoni, Transvaal, in 1986. Mr Brenner was shot by members of the Benoni SAP for refusing to implicate his co-accused. He was imprisoned, charged and convicted, spending ten years in prison, including two and a half years on death row. A member of the CCB later applied for amnesty for the killings.
