A UDF supporter and NUMSA affiliate who was found dead with his throat slit in KwaMnyandu, KwaZulu, near Pietermaritzburg, on 27 November 1989. The previous day, Mr Chamane had reportedly been picked up by three partially-disguised members of the SAP and taken to a police station based in an Inkatha stronghold.
