Was severely injured after being beaten, stabbed and shot by IFP supporters who attacked him as he passed Mshayazafe hostel on his way home to Phola Park, Tokoza, Transvaal, on 15 August 1991. The attack was reportedly in revenge for the assault of a Mshayazafe hostel resident by a Phola Park resident earlier that day.
