Was shot dead in an attack on his home at St Bernards Mission in the Nhlakazuka area, Richmond, Natal, on 22 April 1994 in political conflict between ANC and IFP supporters in the run-up to the April 1994 elections. Two ANC-supporting relatives were also killed in the attack.
