Was shot and injured by members of the riot squad during political turmoil in Mpophomeni, KwaZulu, near Howick, Natal, on 30 March 1990. Residents of this area were predominantly UDF supporters, and were often attacked by neighbouring Inkatha supporters, who were allegedly assisted by members of the SAP.
