She had her home burnt down by Inkatha supporters at Mpumalanga, KwaZulu, near Durban, in April 1990 in intense conflict between ANC and Inkatha supporters in the area. Fourteen people were killed and at least one hundred and twenty homes were burnt down in political violence that month.
