Description An MK operative who was killed in a hand grenade explosion on 17 November 1989 in Athlone, Cape Town. A large group of named police and soldiers surrounded the house and engaged in an exchange of fire with Mr Fransch throughout the night. It could not be determined whether his death was the result of a final act of suicide or from a police grenade.
