A PAC supporter who was arrested and tortured by police in Paarl, Cape, on 22 November 1962, the day after a Poqo march to the police station that left seven people dead. Mr Gwesha was detained for nine months after which he was sentenced to three years on Robben Island, where he was frequently beaten by prison warders.
