Description An ANC member and head of the ANC’s Research Department who was seriously injured in Maputo, Mozambique on 17 August 1982 by a letter bomb sent by members of Security Branch headquarters. Fellow academic, Ruth First, who opened the letter while he was in her office, was killed in the explosion.
