Description Was injured in a hand grenade explosion in Soweto, Johannesburg, on 31 July 1992. An ANC self-defence unit (SDU) member threw the grenade during a confrontation with police. One SDU member was granted amnesty (AC/1998/090). See self-defence units (SDU).
