Was shot and severely injured by MK operatives in Mamelodi, Pretoria, on 6 June 1986 while visiting her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Dludlu, and her husband, David Lukhele, a former minister of KaNgwane. Mr Lukhele was in conflict with the KaNgwane government and actively supported the unification of KaNgwane and Swaziland. Mr Lukhele and Ms Dludlu were both killed in the attack. The perpetrators applied for amnesty.
