Police stopped the bus, sprayed teargas and assaulted the passengers as they were trying to disembark. The incident occurred at the time of the Sarmcol strike. Ten pupils were killed and four injured. A further pupil died later. Two perpetrators were granted amnesty (AC/1998/0012).
