Was shot and severely injured by an IFP supporter in Ndaleni, Richmond, Natal, in March 1991. Ms Madlala had visited the chief to report that IFP supporters had assaulted her daughters for cooking food for `comrades` who had fled to nearby forests and mountains to avoid IFP attacks. On her return, she was shot by her children`s assailants.
