Was abducted, along with a friend, from his home at the Motsoaledi informal settlement by members of an ANC self-defence unit (SDU) and ANC supporters, on 29 March 1994. They were taken to a nearby school in Orlando East, Soweto, Johannesburg, where he was shot dead and his friend shot and injured. They were suspected of participating in an IFP march that day. One SDU member was granted amnesty (AC/1999/0320). See self-defence units (SDU).
