The Commission determined that he may have been burnt to death in Langa Bazaar during extensive arson attacks on 12 August 1976 on shops in Langa. | References | MAFUNA, Pat | | Was shot dead by a Vlakplaas askari at a taxi rank at the Barangwanath Hospital, Johannesburg, on an unspecified date between 1982 and 1986. Mr Mafuna was allegedly a former askari who had defected and was thus targeted for killing. He was convicted but after seven months he was released following an appeal. This was part of a set of arrests and trials in the Karoo region in which Poqo networks were alleged to have conspired to rise up against the white population. | References | MAGAMLE, Ganda William | 21 | A UDF supporter who was shot dead by a named councillor in Fort Beaufort, Cape, on 28 March 1985, during a UDF campaign to force councillors to resign.
