A Democratic Unity Movement (DUM) activist who was arrested on 12 December 1970 at Bizana, Transkei, allegedly because of his involvement in the 1970 campaign against Bantu Education. While in detention, he was tortured in various ways by members of the SAP at Mkambati Forest police station, near Bizana.
