An AZAPO member who was subjected to electric shocks and other torture by members of the SAP in Carletonville, Transvaal, on 1 June 1986. He was at the funeral of a political activist when he was spotted by police who shot him as he tried to escape. Mr Mahlabe was tortured to elicit a confession about his involvement in student politics.
