A NACTU member who was shot and severely injured by members of the SAP, one of whom is named, in Botshabelo, near Bloemfontein, on 30 August 1987, during a period of unrest following the community`s demand that the Special Branch leave Botshabelo. Mr Makau was permanently disabled by this shooting.
