Was shot at by an Orange Free State Security Branch operative during an arrest in Bloemfontein in late 1986 or early 1987. One Security Branch operative alleged that he had received instructions to shoot Mr Makhubalo, but was refused amnesty owing to conflicting evidence (AC/1999/025).
