Was shot dead by a local supporter of the Lingelethu West Town Council on 25 October 1990. At least eight people were killed that day by police and supporters of the town council, during and after a mass march to express community opposition to the council. A named perpetrator serving a prison sentence for the killing was refused amnesty.
