Was shot dead during a petrol bomb and gunfire attack on her home in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, on 18 October 1990. The perpetrators, believed to be linked to the Lingelethu West Town Council, were aiming to kill her husband who was chairperson of the Western Cape Civic Association and a leader in the campaign to oppose the town council.
