He had his house burnt down by IFP supporters at Gobandlovu, KwaZulu, near Empangeni, Natal, on 10 September 1990. Mr Mchunu, whose tenant was burnt to death in the attack, was allegedly targeted because he was believed to be an ANC supporter.
