See self-defence units (SDU). | References | MHLAMBI, Muziwabantu Prince | 29 | An ANC supporter and civic leader who was shot dead by named perpetrators in an ambush in Phola Park in Tokoza, Transvaal, on 10 October 1992. Four other people were also shot dead in the attack. The Goldstone Commission later implicated a police informer in a disinformation campaign against the Phola Park Residents Committee which Mr Mhlambi headed. | References | MHLAMBI, Samson Lucky | 32 | An ANC member and chairperson of the Tokoza civic association who was injured when he was shot in the leg in Tokoza, Transvaal, in 1993. The perpetrators were members of the ISU allegedly accompanied by the leader of the Khumalo gang. Mr Mhlambi was also detained under emergency regulations in 1985 and subsequently spent three years in detention at Modderbee prison in Benoni, Transvaal, where he was assaulted by members of the SAP. Mr Mhlambi was finally released after he and other detainees went on a hunger strike for twenty eight days. The youths were returning from a court appearance in connection with the killing of a local chief when they were attacked, allegedly by the chief`s son and other IFP supporters. Four of the ten were killed and three others injured. | References | MHLANGA, Bafana Johannes 'Jwi' | 41 | He was killed by members of an ANC self-defence unit (SDU) in Ermelo, Transvaal, in July 1991, during political conflict between IFP and ANC supporters.
