Description
A trade union activist who was detained in Observatory, Cape Town under emergency regulations, on 25 October 1985. On 17 November she was taken to Caledon Square police station and tortured for 12 hours by named Security Branch members, after which she was hospitalised. She thereafter successfully applied for a court interdict against the perpetrators. See police brutality.
