A UDF supporter who died when members of the SAP fired an excessive quantity of teargas into her house on 28 April 1985 in Fort Beaufort, Cape. There was conflict at the time between UDF supporters and residents who supported the councillors in Fort Beaufort, leading to a strong police presence in the area.
