A UDF supporter who was shot and severely injured near Crossroads, Cape Town, in May 1986, during the mass destruction of UDF-supporting squatter camps by Witdoeke vigilantes, with the aid and approval of the security forces. Over 60 people were killed and 20 000 homes destroyed in the attacks.
