She had her house burnt down by named ANC supporters in Esigisini, KwaZulu, near Empangeni, Natal, on 17 May 1992. The family was allegedly accused of supporting the IFP. Her daughter, aged 11, was raped and her son, aged 12, stabbed and injured in the attack.
