Was severely injured during an organised attack by several hundred IFP supporting residents of the KwaMadala Hostel, on the Boipatong community, near Vanderbijlpark, Transvaal, during a period of escalating violence between the ANC/IFP in the area. This attack became known as the Boipatong massacre, which left forty five people dead and twenty seven seriously injured. Sixteen perpetrators applied for amnesty for these atrocities of which thirteen were granted and three were refused (AC/2000/209).
