Description
It is assumed that Obed was burnt to death by Vlakplaas operatives during July 1986 at Vlaklaagte, KwaNdebele. He and eight other youth activists were recruited by Vlakplaas askaris, supposedly for military training. They were all killed and the bodies were burnt beyond recognition when the house they were staying in was set alight. The perpetrators applied for amnesty. See Nietverdiend ambush.
