MOLAPO, Matsie Amelia

Description
Was shot and severely injured by members of the SADF in Pimville, Soweto, Johannesburg, on 16 June 1976, the first day of the Soweto uprising. Matsie was placed under police guard in hospital and made to sign certain papers. As a result of her injuries, Matsie is now wheelchair bound. In 1988, she had spinal rods inserted to stabilise her vertebral column.
