The ANC chief representative in the Benelux countries (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg) who survived an attempt on his life by an alleged South African security force operative who fired two shots at him through the windows of the ANC office in Brussels, Belgium, in February 1988. On 27 March 1988, a 17kg bomb was discovered and defused outside his Brussels office. Two days later, the ANC chief representative in Paris was killed in a South African security force operation.
