Was shot dead by IFP supporters on 4 August 1992 in Ratanda, near Heidelberg, Tvl, at a funeral of ANC supporters killed during a labour dispute between striking COSATU-aligned FAWU workers and non-striking IFP-aligned UWUSA workers. A local IFP leader, brandishing a sjambok , emerged from the hostel followed by 300 armed hostel-dwellers to attack mourners. Three people were killed and several others were injured.
