Was shot and severely injured by a named Amasolomzi vigilante in Zolani, Ashton, Cape, on 24 May 1986, while he was on his way home from the funeral of an activist. Mr Mrubata was paralysed by his injury and was confined to a wheelchair until his death from related causes in February 1999.
