She lost her house in an attack by supporters of Chief Jack Mahlangu in July 1975 at Goederede, near Dennilton, KwaNdebele, during conflict over incorporation into Lebowa. Chief Mahlangu supported the incorporation because it would grant him chief rule but many residents resisted.
